Week 5 Progress

Image
During the week Tom has written a Matlab code script that can detect which sign we are making with the glove in theory. We tested the code with the glove. The code worked but was fairly inaccurate. We then recorded some more values to try and make the program more accurate

Recording hand gestures

Image
We have began recording the different sign language gestures and storing the results in tables. At first one of the flex sensors was giving irregular readings because the contacts were touching another flex sensor and shorting it. The sensors were repositioned slightly.

Week 4 progress

We tried reducing the significant figures but it made hardly any difference. We noticed that the noise level in our circuit had decreased from the previous week. We think that the noise might have been caused by another project with our long wires acting as antennas. We have marked where the flex sensors will go on the glove with a marker pen, we have attached all of the flex sensors to the appropriate positions on the glove using super glue. We have attached the circuit board to the glove using a hot glue gun.
